Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo invites Bahrain to “Start Your Impossible”

In the lead up to the 2020 Paralympic Games being held in Tokyo this year, Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo has announced its support for Toyota’s “Start Your Impossible” campaign, an initiative that highlights the company’s commitment to providing freedom of mobility for all.

The “Start Your Impossible” campaign marks Toyota’s commitment to supporting the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable mobile society in which everyone can challenge their impossible. The fully integrated campaign also highlights Toyota's mission to create a barrier-free society, and reinforces the company's values of humility, hard work, overcoming challenges, and never giving up.

Toyota Bahrain, powered by Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, has officially partnered with the Bahrain National Paralympic Committee (BPC) to support the Bahraini Para athletes participating in this year’s Paralympic Games. Ebrahim K. Kanoo Managing Director, Mr. Talal Fuad Kanoo met with Bahrain Paralympic Committee President, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, to announce the partnership as well as the names of the qualifying athletes.

Shaikh Mohammed highlighted the important role of the private sector in supporting the local sports scene, as well as Toyota’s commitment to People of Determination, stating “We are very proud to partner with Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, one of Bahrain’s most important family  businesses, as well as with Toyota, which is undoubtedly a global household name. The commitment of the private sector to encourage investment in the national sporting field falls in line with the wise leadership of the nation, with the unwavering support of the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Major General H.H Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and the guidance of H.H Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Head of the General Sports Authority and Bahrain Olympic Committee President.”

Mr. Talal Fuad Kanoo stated, “We have an outstanding team of award-winning professional athletes and para athletes in Bahrain, and partnerships like this help encourage more people to come forward to realise their dreams, regardless of any impossible obstacles they face.”

Mr. Kanoo also highlighted the important role played by the National Paralympic Committee and the company’s unwavering commitment to Bahrain, stating, “Ebrahim K. Kanoo has been a proud and diligent corporate citizen of Bahrain for over 70 years. We are happy to bring Toyota’s “Start Your Impossible” initiative to Bahrain and encourage everyone to realise their full potential and follow their dreams. It gives us great pleasure to be here with these inspiring people who prove, every day, that with strong will and determination, you can indeed achieve great success.”

Shaikh Mohammed also announced the names of the qualifying Bahraini athletes who will be travelling to Tokyo in August to participate in the highly anticipated Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Bahrainis Rooba Alomari will be participating officially in the Discus Throw (F55), and Ahmed Meshaima will be participating in Javelin Throw (F38).

Toyota’s commitment to mobility for all and the “Start Your Impossible” Campaign began in 2015; and will continue to work with the Organising Committees until 2024 to provide sustainable mobility solutions for the Olympic and Paralympic Games to help with safer, more efficient mobility, including intelligent transport systems, urban traffic systems and vehicle-to-vehicle communications systems. The partnership will help deliver a mobility legacy in the host cities and countries.
