Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the sole distributor of Toyota vehicles in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has officially launched the 14th edition of the “Toyota Dream Car Art Contest”, an international platform for budding young artists to unleash their creative imagination and help shape the future of mobility.
The month long national contest, closing on the 10th of December 2020, is officially open to contestants based in Bahrain, and is split into three categories; under 7 years, 8-11 years old and 12-15 years old. Each category will also have three winners with cash prizes for all winning entries ranging from BD100 to BD250. The winners will also advance to the ‘Regional Toyota Dream Car Art Contest’ in Dubai in 2021 and winners of that contest advance to the ‘World Contest’ to be held in Japan later next year.
Encouraging the youth to participate in the contest, Ebrahim K. Kanoo Director, Mr. Khalid Kanoo reflected the company’s desire to spark the imagination stating, “We at Toyota Bahrain are all very excited to inaugurate the 14th edition of this contest that has already engaged with nearly 6.2 million children from 100 countries across the globe. We have had very impressive entries from Bahrain in the past and are always delighted to see what young minds imagine the future of cars and mobility to look like.”
This year, celebrated local Bahraini artists, Abbas Al Mosawi and Areej Rajab, will help motivate the youth with videos of their inspirational signature tips and techniques, available on the contest website and across the brand’s social channels. They will also be part of the final judging panel alongside officials from Ebrahim K. Kanoo.
Contest guidelines are aligned with the most recent pandemic safety protocols, and all entries must be digitally uploaded to the contest website (https://dreamcar.toyota.com.bh/) to limit paper handling. A maximum of the standard A3 sized paper sheet will only be accepted and all entries must be hand-drawn, scanned in high resolution and uploaded. The entry form, available on the same website, will also need to be filled in completely and signed by a parent or guardian in order to qualify for entry. Computer graphics artwork, collaborative pieces and those considered to include Intellectual Property (IP) infringement will not be accepted. More information can be found on the website.
