Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, the exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Bahrain, held the Toyota & Lexus National Skills Contest 2022, a highly competitive activity where employees demonstrate their technical knowledge and practical expertise in their respective professional fields.

For the first time, this year’s Skills Contest included contestants from the Sales division and a reintroduction of Spare Parts divisions alongside the Aftersales Service division, making it the biggest edition of the contest to date since its introduction in 1992. 42 professionals were shortlisted from over 250 applicants participating in seven categories, namely Sales executives, Service Advisors, Parts Advisors, General Service Technicians, Estimators, Body Technicians and Paint Technicians.

The contest was held in the newly established Toyota Commercial Vehicle Centre, the largest dedicated commercial vehicle centre in Bahrain and at the Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Training Centre, the company’s state-of-the-art dedicated training and talent development centre.

Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Director and Board Member Mr. Ebrahim Mohamed Kanoo commented on the significance of the contest stating, “We at Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo are fully committed to providing our customers with the best services whether in Sales, Aftersales or Spare Parts. In line with Toyota’s global ‘Kaizen’ philosophy, this competition nurtures the sense of continuous improvement to find the most efficient solutions to any task. It also creates a healthy competition between our teams to find the best of the best, setting benchmarks for their colleagues and the rest of the company.”

Ebrahim K. Kanoo Executive General Manager of Sales, Mr. Ismail Akbar lauded the competition, explaining its importance; “This contest is an investment in the talent of our team, it helps ensure they have a high level of professional knowledge and the abilities required to remain at the forefront of industry standards. It has also been proven to support high customer satisfaction levels thanks to better buying experiences, less downtime and increased efficiency for all our customers and business partners.”

The winners received cash prizes, trophies and certificates. The competition also featured a section to find the Best Bahraini Talent in every segment. Head of Talent at Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Dr. John Mathew added the importance of this stating, “This company is fully dedicated to the people of Bahrain and developing local talent from the grassroots. We are increasingly attracting and retaining more Bahraini talent due to the forward thinking plans of our Board of Directors including Bahraini Graduate programs, Apprenticeship & Internship programs and strategic partnerships with the educational bodies in Bahrain.”
